Forget Bale – Conte ready to activate pacy winger’s buy-back clause



Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach star, Thorgan Hazard this transfer window.

The Italian tactician has always spoken of his desire to add to this thin squad this January transfer window after falling 16 points behind runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City who have only dropped four points so far this term and remain the only unbeaten side in the League.

The Blues recently signed English midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton for a reported £15 million but Antonio Conte is still keen on bolstering his squad with more players and reports from German news outlet Bild understands the defending champions are keen on re-signing Thorgan Hazard from German side, Borussia Monchengladbach this month.

The Belgian forward joined Chelsea from French side, Lens in the summer of 2012 for an undisclosed fee but was sent out on a two-season long loan to Belgian side, Zulte Waregem in other to garner enough first team experience.

However, in 2014, he was also sent out on loan to German side, Borussia Monchengladbach after failing to break into the Blues first team, but on the 23rd of February 2015, he secured a permanent five-year deal to Borussia Monchengladbach for a reported fee of £5.9 million of which a buy-back clause was inserted in his contract by the Blues.

The 24-year-old has impressed in attack for the German outfit so far this term scoring 7 goals and providing three assists in 20 games across all competitions.

He is known for his passing, dribbling, finishing, crossing, cutting inside and also a set-piece specialist.

Given his level of exposure, and regular first-team experience he has garnered over the years, he would be a fantastic addition to the Blues.
