Forget Coutinho, Liverpool open talks to sign €100m-rated attacker

Liverpool, Premier League table toppers have reportedly opened talks to secure the services of Italian international striker who played under Klopp before.

The league leaders currently have in their ranks one of the best attacking front three in the world. Salah, Mane and Firmino are up there with the best forwards in the world of football.

However, the club doesn’t have the same firepower up front when anyone of those three is injured. The likes of Daniel Sturridge and Xherdan Shaqiri have done a decent job whenever they are called upon though.

Klopp is scouting the market for an effective backup and Ciro Immobile has been mentioned along that line, with scout reportedly set to watch the player when Lazio, his current employee faces Roma at the weekend.

Immobile, hitherto played under Klopp whilst at Borussia Dortmund even though the player’s impact did not set the world alight back then, it seems he did enough to merit a second notice.

Chelsea are also keen on the player even though it looks like a Plan B for them, with Gonzalo Higuain their top target this January.

Chelsea will have a peek in at the player just in case the desire to sign the argentine becomes unsuccessful. After all, one cannot absolutely rely on the transfer window because of its fluid nature, Nabil Fekir a case in point.

If Liverpool can see negotiations through for the Italian, his addition might lift the attack but I think where the club need reinforcement is at the back.
