Good News: Chelsea agree £50m transfer, deal to be announced in days

Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of £50 million for Roma duo, Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko ahead of a potential move to Stamford Bridge this month.

Antonio Conte has always spoken of his desire to bolster his squad this January transfer having watched his side fall 15 points behind Premier League leaders, Manchester City who have only dropped seven points thus far this season.

Despite the Blues bolstering their midfield options with Ross Barkley from Everton for a reported fee of £15 million earlier this month, the west London club are still in the hunt for a striker and a left-sided defender to provide stiff competition and cover for both Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso.

However, reports from the Daily Mirror suggest that the Premier League champions have agreed a fee in the region of £50 million with Roma to sign the impressive duo of Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri away from the Stadio Olimpico this month and could be set to announce both deals within the next few days.

It is believed the centre forward is being valued around £30 million but could rise up to a fee in the region of £40 million based on bonuses and ad-ons while the left-back is being valued around £20 million.

The Bosnian hitman is expected to earn a weekly wage of £120,000 while the Brazilian is expected to earn a weekly wage of £42,000.

The 31-year-old has featured in 26 games for the Serie A outfit across all competitions this season scoring 12 goals and providing 4 assists while the 23-year-old defender is yet to feature for Roma this season having just recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament damage that has kept him out since May 2017.

Both players will be a brilliant addition to the Blues squad and will give Antonio Conte more options both in defence and attack.
