Good News: Man United can finally sign transfer target in January but on one condition

Italian side, Napoli are reportedly ready to allow Algerian defender, Faouzi Ghoulam join Manchester United this month once a replacement for the defender is confirmed.

Report from Portuguese outlet Record understands the Serie A leaders are close to agreeing a deal for Benfica defender Alejandro Grimaldo who is believed to be a replacement for Manchester United target Faouzi Ghoulam.

The Algerian international has been on the radar of the 20-times Premier League champions for a while, but reports suggests the Red Devils are now favorites to sign the Algerian having beat off competition from fellow Premier League rivals such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

The Algerian defender has grown into one of the finest defenders in the Serie A since he secured a winter move from French side, Saint-Etienne for an undisclosed fee in 2014.

However, the left-back recently signed a new five-year deal with the Serie A leaders at the start of December with his release clause reportedly set at £53 million.

The 26-year-old has featured in 15 games across all competitions for Napoli scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists.

He is known for his crossing, passing, pace, winning aerial duels, an eye for goal and also a set-piece threat.

Although, the full-back is still out injured having suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury last November, he would be a quality addition to the Red Devils given his level of consistency and qualities.
