Chelsea have been given a transfer boost as sensational news from England reports that Wilfried Zaha has informed teammates of his wish to play for Chelsea. The Ivorian international is widely speculated to leave Palace after an impressive campaign. The 25-year-old was said to refuse a transfer to Everton due to his wish to play for a top four side.

According to the report, Zaha has his mind set on a move to Chelsea and his agents have contacted the Blues over a transfer for the former United player.

A fee of £60 million is expected to be tabled by the Blues for the forward as they seek to wrap up the transfer in the next few days. However, Palace are loath to losing the player and have informed Zaha that only a huge fee would compel the club to sell.

Zaha could submit an official transfer request if the club refuses to accept a sizeable offer from the Blues. Palace want to keep the player and have offered the attacker a new contract worth £125,000 to ward off advances.

Zaha would be a good signing for the Blues as he is well acquainted with the EPL though Blues faithful would be wary of how his stint at United panned out. The 25-year-old has been the talisman of Crystal Palace since his return to the club in 2015 following a disappointing period with Manchester United.

Zaha contributed 9 goals and 4 assists and was pivotal in the club escaping the drop last season despite not picking any point in their first 5 matches.
