Harry Maguire to Manchester United, what really happened last summer

Manchester United reportedly turned down the chance to sign Harry Maguire from Hull City last summer for a paltry sum of £15 million.

Reports from The Irish Independent claims the Red Devils could have acquired Harry Maguire for a little price but didn’t take up the opportunity as Leicester City beat them to the race.

Maguire has attracted the interest of big clubs following his stable and impressive performance last season and in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Red Devils were linked to have interest in Maguire and this is seen as a good purchase for United who are in need of a good center-back but United chose to go for Raphael Varane which also didn’t materialise and they ended the summer transfer window with just three signings.

However, Maguire completed his move to Leicester City on a £12million deal which is seen to be very cheap for the Red Devils but they didn’t grab the opportunity to get him signed.

United Coach Jose Mourinho is now left with no choice but to make use of his present resources and if Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly meets up to expectations, then the Portuguese coach could have a strong duo for the season but on the other hand, Maguire appears to be focused after a welcome play against United in the Premier League opener.
