Highly rated winger pictured in a Chelsea shirt

Chelsea winter transfer target Leon Bailey has fueled speculation linking him to a move to Stamford Bridge after an old tweet from the winger’s Twitter account resurfaced online putting on a Chelsea jersey.

The Blues have been keeping tabs on the Jamaican international since his days at Belgian side, Genk and it is believed Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte is a keen admirer of the highly rated youngster.

The Italian tactician has always spoken of his desire to bolster his squad in the January transfer window as the battle for Champions League places becomes tougher.

The Blues are level on 47 points with Liverpool but currently sit fourth on the log due to the Reds superior goal difference and would be hoping to address their recent struggles in front of goal this month by bringing in one or two reinforcement in attack having scored just twice in their last four games across all competitions.

Despite signing Ross Barkley from Everton last week for a reported fee of £15 million, the Blues still look short up-front with Alvaro Morata and Michi Batshuayi failing to find the back of the net since the turn of the new year, fans have clamoured for the signing of winger Leon Bailey who has been impressive for Bayer Leverkusen so far this season.

He has grown into one of the hottest properties in the Bundesliga since he secured a €20 million from Genk to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015.

He is known for his pace, excellent dribbling abilities, finishing, crossing, versatility, long shots and also a set-piece specialist.

The 20-year-old is often deployed on the left or right hand side of the attack and has featured in 16 games for the German side scoring 8 times and providing 4 assists.
