Why i snubbed other clubs to join Arsenal – Matteo Guendouzi reveals

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi reveals how he turned down offers from “biggest clubs in Europe” in a bid to move to Emirate this summer.

Matteo Guendouzi happens to be among Unai Emery favourites as he signed the 19-year old to the English side for a fee of £7illion despite interests from Borrusia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germaine.

The youngster has insisted that it was a “simple decision” to choose Arsenal among others and he also discussed his possible move to Arsenal with Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere.

Reports from Evening Standard confirms Guendouzi’s decision as he stated: “It’s true there were a lot of clubs interested in me — I had talks with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. But as soon as I heard from Arsenal, the decision was very simple and I’m very happy to be here.”

Guendouzi furthermore revealed speaking with Jeremie about his interest of joining Arsenal and Jeremie describes Arsenal in all good qualities, confirming the club to be a place he should be.

“It’s the club of my heart. There have been a lot of French players here and Thierry Henry is a symbol in France after his long career here. I used to watch Arsenal games with my father and it has a special place in my heart” Guendouzi stated.

The 19-year old made his first appearance for Arsenal during the 2-0 home defeat to Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday.
