Jurgen Klopp set to reshuffle his pack in defence by ditching Dejan Lovren

For all Liverpool’s attacking options upfront they have always being a suspect at the back and like they say ‘Attack win you games but defence win you Titles’. One of the Reds Achilles heel under Jurgen Klopp has been the defence who are known for conceding cheap goals against lesser opposition. The German decision to make Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk is primary target without any back-up plan in the summer transfer window seems to have backfired with the Reds already conceding 15 goals away from home in just nine games so far this season in the Premier League.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager is ready to fix his leaking defence by reshuffling his pack in defense by dropping Croatian international Dejan Lovren in place of youngster Joe Gomez who has impressed so far this season at right back.

Dejan Lovren was atrocious in the heart of defense against a brilliant Spurs side who humbled the Reds 4-1 at Wembley on Sunday, the Croatian international was subbed off within the first thirty minutes of the game and could find it difficult to break into the Reds starting line-up with manger Jurgen Klopp ready to use youngster Joe Gomez in the heart of defence often according to English publication the Mirror.

Liverpool entertain newly promoted side Huddersfield to Anfield on Saturday and would be wary of the Terriers who stunned bitter rivals Manchester United to their first defeat of the season at the John Smith’s Stadium last weekend. The Reds will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Premier League after a run of two draws and a loss since their 3-2 win away at Leicester last month.
