Inter Milan Ivan Perisic has had an excellent World Cup campaign where he has scored two goals and provided further two goals in as many games he has played at the mundial.

Following his man of the match performance against England on Wednesday, United Manager Jose Mourinho has spoken nicely of the winger who was strongly linked with a move to Man United last summer.

Mourinho is an avid fan of the Croatian winger and pointed out the qualities that make Perisic a unique winger.

According to the Portuguese Tactician, Perisic’s physical presence and aerial prowess are what differentiates him from other wingers.

‘Perisic is the kind of winger that is different to the others,

‘Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative. ‘But he is also physical, very physical. Fantastic in the air.

‘So the way he wins that ball in the air [and puts the ball into that space is only possible if you are very, very physical and dominant over defenders. ‘So he was amazing by going there and winning that ball in the air.’

Perisic was coveted by United last summer as the Old Trafford outfit were linked to the player all through the summer. However, a move failed to materialize as United failed to match Inter Milan’s valuation of £50 million for the 29-year-old. Perisic had an impressive season for Inter Milan last term, as he scored 11 goals and provided nine assists as the Italian giants qualified for the Champions League.

Mourinho may be tempted to move for the player this summer as a replacement for wantaway winger Anthony Martial. Martial is expected to leave the club after informing the club of his decision to search for more first-team opportunities elsewhere.

Perisic was spectacular in the semi final defeat of England, scoring the equalizer and setting up the extra time goal as Croatia advanced to a World Cup final for the first time.
