Liverpool agree deal to sign highly rated defender



Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a move for Colombian highly rated defender, Anderson Arroyo.

Despite boasting of two natural left-sided defenders in Alberto Moreno and Andrew Robertson, manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on building for the future.

Reports from World football index claim the Reds are close to signing the defender having agreed terms with the Colombian youngster.

The 18-year-old who plays regularly for second-tier side Fortazela impressed the Merseyside club having undergone a trial with the Reds U-18 academy side during their 2016 tour of Germany and now looks set to join the 18-time Premier League champions on a permanent basis.

However, securing a work permit for the highly rated defender will be difficult and may force the Reds to send him back on loan to Spanish side, Mallorca who he joined on trial in December 2017 in other to get regular playing time and garner enough first team experience.

The Colombian international began his career at local side Linaje de Quibdo at an early age before joining Boca Juniors de Cali few years later and was later called up to the Colombian U-17 side in the 2015 South American Youth championship after series of impressive displays

Anderson is often deployed as a full-back but can also play as a wide midfielder and is known for his pace, tackling, versatility, work-rate, concentration, skill, tactical awareness and defensive contributions.

Given his age and massive potential he would be a quality addition to the Reds.
