Liverpool decides on selling four players before close of window

The transfer window closed in England yesterday by 5pm BST, however, several players can still leave England to other leagues. The premier league voted unanimously last season to close the window early this from the start of this season.

Liverpool were among the biggest spenders this summer spending over £175million on 5 new players and are expected to be Manchester City closest challengers for the title. However, this summer splash also has an effect on the squad as some players would have to leave. Some of the players surplus to requirements and expected to leave include Mignolet,Markovic, Ojo and Origi

Simon Mignolet has been linked out of Anfield since the end of last season but still remains a Liverpool player. The arrival of Alsson from Roma means Mignolet has been relegated to the third choice position.

Mignolet is still regarded as a decent goalkeeper and Napoli and Besiktas are reported to be interested in the 30-year-old goalkeeper. Though Liverpool’s asking price of £12 million is the major deterrent.

Markovic has so far remained as a Liverpool player despite attempts by the Anfield side to farm the player away from the club. A transfer was said to have been agreed with Greek side Olympiacos but his wage proved a stumbling block.

Sheyi Ojo has also been linked to moves outside England but no club is willing to meet the £15million asking price.Divock Origi was another player who did not leave up to potential in England, however, several clubs in Spain are willing to punt on him. Valencia and Sevilla are in a two way battle for the Belgium international.
