Manchester United have stepped up performances in the league since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker manager after the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
United have been leaking goals all season until in their last EPL match against Newcastle where they managed to keep a clean sheet for the first in a quite a while and the club executives are looking to invest in the defence with Roma’s Kostas Manolas linked.
The 27-year-old is being mooted for a possible Old Trafford switch this January. Bookmakers have recently slashed the odd of the player moving to United which have gotten fans excited.
Juventus, along with Real Madrid, Chelsea and United have all shown interest in the obviously talented centre back, but bookmakers have made United favourites.
The same bookmakers have made Chelsea second favourites in the pursuit of the Stadio Olimpico star.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer has revealed he doesn’t expect any addition to his squad this January but if the club authorities think an addition is required then they have his support.
I’m happy with squad I’ve got,” Solskjaer said. “I don’t expect anyone to come in but obviously if the club have targeted and identified a few and I think they might fit here, I’ll give my thumbs up. But it’s not just my decision.”
