Man United target emerges as surprise replacement for Chelsea’s Willian

Premier League champions, Chelsea are making contingency plans for Brazilian international Willian who continues to be linked with a potential reunion with his former manager, Jose Mourinho at Manchester United in the winter transfer window after finding games hard to come by this season.

The Blues have identified Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Leon Bailey as Willian’s replacement and are ready to make a move for the Jamaican youngster in the January transfer window.

However, the Jamaican could be the subject of a two-way transfer battle between Chelsea and Arsenal with the Gunners also interested in the highly rated youngster according to Metro.

The Jamaican international has been on the Blues radar for a while and has grown into one of the finest attacking midfielder in the Bundesliga since his £12 million move from Belgian side, Genk last summer.

He is often deployed on the flanks especially on the left and right-hand side of the attack.

The former Genk forward is known for his pace, versatility, dribbling, crossing, likes to cut inside, shooting from outside the box and also a set-piece specialist.

The 20-year-old has featured in 14 games across all competitions scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists.

With his age, quality and potential he could be a long term replacement for Willian who could be tempted with a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
