Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal star, Alexis Sanchez as Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has stated that the exit is imminent for the Chilean star. In recent days, United have gazumped Manchester City to the top of the queue to sign Sanchez, who is desperate to leave the Emirates this winter.

The Standard reports that Arsenal will be willing to do business with the Red Devils but will prefer Anthony Martial to be part of the deal, though it is yet unclear if Jose Mourinho and United will sanction the deal. Reports last week suggested that United will make a bid of around £25m for Sanchez, as well as offer Henrikh Mhkitaryan as a makeweight in the deal.

Manchester City still believe that Sanchez wants to join them, though superior wages, offer of more first team football and the possibility of making him the focus of the United team may help sway his mind.

Manchester City were close to signing him last summer but Arsenal’s failure to sign a replacement before the transfer window scuppered any potential deal.

Sanchez is an attacking midfielder known for his pace, dribbling, creativity, versatility and finishing. He is a committed player that always gives his all for the team, and will add quality to United’s attack.

With Arsenal demanding Martial, it could be a dilemma for Jose Mourinho as the 21-year-old France international has impressed massively this season after his struggles of last season.
