Manchester United preparing £35m bid for left-footed attacker

Manchester United are keen on Ozil and are reportedly ready to offer £35m to land the star, according to reports from the Daily Mirror. The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the Emirates, and could leave on a free this summer ,although Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer improved terms on his contract.

The German international has been in tremendous form lately with reports suggesting his improved form have reignited Mourinho’s interest in the midfielder. The pair have a good relationship since Mourinho’s tenure at the helm of affairs in Real Madrid, with Ozil’s style of play been likened to Real Madrid’s current boss Zinedine Zidane by the ex-Chelsea boss.

The reports also claim Manchester united are not prepared to wait until the summer and are prepared to pay big to bring Ozil to Old Trafford this January, with Mourinho been reportedly armed with a transfer kitty of up to £80 million.

However, the Reds might face a stern test in convincing the Gunners to depart with their talisman, particularly when in such great form. Though such huge amount of money for a player who is free to leave at the end of the season could tempt the Gunner Chiefs into agreeing a deal with Manchester United.

Ozil has scored 4 goals and laid in 5 assists in 18 appearances in the premier league this season.
