Marouane Fellaini wants huge pay rise in new contract

Belgian midfielder, Marouane Fellaini has reportedly asked for a payrise to his existing contract if he is to stay at Old Trafford beyond this summer. He currently earns £80,000 per week on his existing contract, but feels he deserves a contract that reflects his massive contribution to the team.

The 29-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season having deputized well for the injured Paul Pogba so far this season and it is believed he is demanding for wages in the region of £130,000 per week. However, the United hierarchy might be reluctant to offer as much as £130,000 per week for a player who has struggled for consistency over the years, but with the player enjoying a new lease of life under the Special One its only befitting for the Belgian to be rewarded with a pay rise.

The 29-year-old has always been under the microscope since joining the Red Devils in 2014 but with Mourinho showing so much faith in him, he has improved since the arrival of the Portugese tactician. He has always given a good account of himself whenever he is given the chance to play, and he underlined his importance again to his side with a brace against struggling Crystal Palace at Old Trafford last weekend.

The Belgian international scored just four goals in 47 appearances last term for United but has already equalled his tally for United last term in just 8 games so far this season. He has scored four goals in four home games so far this season and he is gradually becoming a fans favorite and will be key in our hunt for trophies this season.
