Mauro Icardi transfer to Chelsea takes a new twist

English side Chelsea are set to miss out on signing Inter Milan star player Mauro Icardi opting to go for Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson instead.

Icardi is a prolific player that scores most of the goals for Inter Milan, and he is also their most prized asset. He has been playing for Inter since 2013 and has contributed tremendously in their rise back up in Serie A and into the Champions League.

Icardi is a fine player for the Italian side and is very much admired by Chelsea’s head coach Maurizio Sarri, though bringing the player on to the Stamford Bridge seems to be difficult.

Due to the whopping £90million valuation price tag on Icardi, there is every indication that Chelsea will be priced out in the January transfer window.

In a report made available by The Sun, Genoa’s Krzysztof Piatek is another striker to have been looked at by the West London-based club. Bournemouth’s Wilson is also one of the players that have been added lately to Chelsea’s wish list, with a £35million New Year swoop mooted.

Wilson has been putting up a tremendous performance for Bournemouth this season in their intense start to the Premier League campaign.

The Cherries are sitting sixth in the Premier League table and Wilson’s top performance has helped in elevating his club to the recent success.

His recent performance has earned him a call-up to the English squad for the friendly against the United States and Nations League clash with Croatia at the Wembley.
