Medical done, Chelsea swiftly complete £57.4M before transfer ban

Chelsea are close to a sensational move for Napoli midfielder Jorginho after the player agreed on personal terms with the London club.

Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis had yesterday claimed that he has agreed on a deal with Chelsea for the Italian International. According to the media magnate, the deal is irrespective of Sarri’s appointment as the Blues coach. A deal has been agreed in principle with medical already completed ahead of an official announcement to be held in days.

However new developments from Italy reports that Napoli want a clause that would involve a transfer embargo on Napoli players when Sarri is confirmed as coach.

According to Napoli Lawyer Mattia Grassani, the club had a meeting with Chelsea officials in which certain terms were discussed concerning the transfer of Sarri to Stamford Bridge. He also claimed that the negotiations between both parties would concluded by the end of the week.

“There was a meeting in Rome at the offices of De Laurentiis, without Sarri. We exchanged views with the English club and the coach’s lawyers.

“De Laurentiis wants to leave nothing to chance for the time Sarri will be at Chelsea. These are dynamics we have been facing and should be concluded by the end of the week.”

It had earlier been reported that a fee of £57.4 million had been agreed for the transfer of both Sarri and Jorginho to Stamford Bridge. Jorginho had been thought to be close to a deal to Manchester city but all indications suggest the Blues have snared the Player to London.

Jorginho was a key cog in the Napoli midfield that finished four points behind Juventus in the Serie A last season.
