Ander Herrera who has been rumoured to be leaving Manchester United this summer has reportedly ruled out leaving United after being approached by Athletic Bilbao his former club.

On the other hand, Herrera would rather remain in Old Trafford instead of returning to his former club this summer, and now that the deadline for bringing in a replacement for the midfielder has elapsed it is said that club manager Jose Mourinho will be hesitant to part with him.

Herrera may be prompt to be a back-up player behind Fred, Nemanja and Paul Pogba this season, but without doubt he is still a significant part of Old Trafford.

The Spain international provides that needed intensity and energy in the centre and he has a unique play with producing phenomenal all-action performances. He is known for giving his best performances during United’s big games, he was named Man of the Match in the UEFA Europa League final in 2017.

Online reports say his unwavering mentality to always win puts him on a higher scale compared to some of his team mates, it is hard to see such zeal since former United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

However, Fred’s arrival to Old Trafford may avail him lesser opportunity to start matches the season, even though, he is still an important piece for United.
