Belgian international, Marouane Fellaini has reportedly told Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho that he wants to leave Old Trafford according to reports from English publication, Goal.

The Belgian midfielder whose contract at the Theatre of Dreams expires at the end of the season and could leave for a cut-price deal this month has been heavily linked with a move to Portuguese side, Besiktas ahead of a potential summer move.

Although, he was offered a contract extension by the Old Trafford hierarchy last year September but the offer was rejected by the Belgian and it seems he has made up his mind and has his heart set on exiting the Theatre of Dreams with reports suggesting he wants a new challenge.

The 6ft4 midfielder faced a lot of criticism both from the fans and media having joined Manchester United from Everton in the summer of 2013 on deadline day for a reported fee of £27.5 million with many believing he isn’t United quality and was often regarded to as panic buy.

However, since the arrival of Jose Mourinho in 2016, the Belgian has looked rejuvenated under the tutelage of the Special One and has become one of the key players under the Portuguese tactician.

The 30-year-old has featured in 13 games across all competitions for the Red Devils and has already equalled his overall tally of goals last season in 34 less matches having scored four times so far this season.

He is often deployed as a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder and he is known for his tackling, aerial prowess, finishing, and defensive contributions.
