Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for Austrian defender David Alaba ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford this summer.

Having watched his side finished as runners-up to Premier League champions Manchester City this term, the Special One knows the onus is on him to aid United come back stronger next season as he faces a defining season at the Theatre of Dreams next term.

One of the key positions Jose Mourinho wants to strength ahead of next season this transfer window is the left-back role having majorly used winger Ashley Young as a makeshift left-back throughout this campaign.

The Red Devils have been linked with host of left-sided defenders in recent months including the likes of Danny Rose, Alex Sandro, and Kieran Tierney.

However, Don Balon claims that Jose Mourinho has now focused his attention on Bayern Munich defender David Alaba with the Portuguese tactician identifying him as the man to ease his worries at left-back.

It is believed the fullback is keen on a move away from the Allianz Arena having enjoyed a trophy laden career with the Bavarian giants and could be open to a new challenge elsewhere.

Although, it is left to be seen if the German giants would be open to selling a key player such as the 25-year-old, but with United’s spending power, it’s not impossible to rule out a potential move for the Austrian defender.

He is known for his pace, dribbling, crossing, long shots, passing, concentration, awareness, and defensive contributions.
