Chelsea have finally made headway in the saga over the next manager of the club with the latest comments of Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Laurentiis revealed this news on Wednesday during the unveiling of Carlo Ancelotti as Napoli new coach. He told reporters that negotiations with Sarri are close to completion as he has submitted the final details of negotiation to his lawyers.

Laurentiis also made a shock admission that Chelsea are set to sign Manchester City Jorginho this summer regardless of which manager is in charge. The 26-year-old had been thought to be close to a move to Manchester.  However, Laurentiis revealed that a higher wage and the player’s preference to live in London had proved crucial factors in his choice of Chelsea over Manchester city.

“The Sarri deal is in the homestretch, it depends on him.

“I’ve laid down my conditions. It’s all in the hands of lawyers. Jorginho? We said to ourselves, ‘if Jorginho has any requests, we’ll take them into account’.

“For that, I’ll have to apologise to Manchester City. However, if the player would rather live in London than Manchester, I can understand that.

“If Chelsea are paying him even more, I can understand that too. Jorginho and Sarri together again? Jorginho would go to Chelsea regardless of Sarri.”

Chelsea have been negotiating a move for Sarri since last month and Chelsea fans will be delighted that a move is close to fruition. Jorginho transfer is the surprise package but Chelsea fans will be happy to see the playmaker sit alongside Kante in the midfield.

This news would mean an end to current first team coach Antonio Conte Stint with the club. Conte has spent two seasons with the London outfit, winning the EPL title and FA Cup with the Stamford Bridge outfit. However, Chelsea’s failure to secure a top 4 position and the Conte’s quarrel with the club hierarchy ultimately meant he had to leave this summer.
