The saga over the identity of the next Chelsea coach is set to be resolved this week. Sarri has reportedly flown into London to finalise the deal today.

The Italian is close to taking over at Stamford Bridge with little details remaining. Transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla claims Chelsea are set to resolve some minor details with the 59 year-old ahead of an official announcement in days.

Italian transfer expert, Pedulla said: “Sarri and Chelsea: close announcement? Calm, patience and attention to the upcoming developments.

“There could be a meeting between the intermediaries of the operation and the management of Chelsea to fine-tune the last details and proceed to the operational phase that will lead to the deal.

“The negotiations with Napoli are going ahead.

“Tomorrow is June 22, keep attention because we cannot rule out the presence of the same coach at the London summit that should lead him to the bench of the Blues, with automatic resolution of the relationship with Antonio Conte.”

Sarri has started recruiting members of his backroom staff. Club legend Gianfranco Zola is expected to be named his assistant coach while Inter Milan analyst martiscuello has been approach for a coaching role.

The incoming manager has reportedly shortlisted several players for transfer, with the likes of Napoli pair of Koulibaly and Mertens high on the list.

Sarri is highly rated for his attacking football and led Napoli to 2nd place in Serie A last season. He is expected to succeed Conte who has been with the club for the past two seasons.

Chelsea have been negotiating the severance clause in his contract reportedly £10 million. Conte is understood to demand full payment though the Blues are confident of reaching an agreement with the Italian.
