Not Paulo Dybala: Manchester United end pursuit of world-class forward

English giants, Manchester United have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign French forward, Antoine Griezmann who was heavily linked with a switch to the Theatre of Dreams in the summer.

The Frenchman was a primary target for the Red Devils in the summer but a move to Old Trafford failed to materialise after he opted to stay with the Los Rojiblancos due to the transfer ban placed on them by world governing body FIFA in the summer.

Report from Daily Mirror suggests the 20-times Premier League champions have cooled their interest in the striker and has made Catalan giants, Barcelona favorites to land the Frenchman in the January transfer window.

However, Jose Mourinho cooling his interest in the Frenchman makes perfect sense with the Red Devils boasting of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku upfront.

The French international has grown into one of the best strikers in the world since his €30 million move to the Wanda Metropolitano in the summer of 2014 from Spanish side, Real Sociedad.

The 26-year-old has featured in 20 games for Atletico Madrid across all competitions scoring seven goals and providing 5 assists.

The former Real Sociedad forward is often deployed as a striker but can also play on the right hand side of the midfield and he is known for his finishing, pace, long shots, hold-up play, work rate, positioning, and his versatility.
