Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: This player impressed me the most against Reading

Caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been particularly impressed with one player for his performance in the win against Reading in the FA Cup fourth round played at Old Trafford.

United have won four straight matches in the Premier league since the introduction of the caretaker manager following the unceremonious exit of Jose Mourinho.

Pundits have however emphasized that the clubs faced so far by the Norwegian interim manager are low quality and therefore too much shouldn’t be made of the progress.

These were the same pundits who vigorously criticised the sacked Mourinho for his inability to deliver result on regular bases especially against the so called bottom half teams.

Anyways, the win against lowly rated Reading United was a positive one despite the mostly disjointed performance. Darmian was hugely impressive at the position the coach chose for him and the gaffer wasn’t shy to praise the Italian.

Manchester United have qualified for the next round of the FA Cup and are now warming up for a top showing with third placed Tottenham Hotspurs at Wembley in the English Premier League next week. A tough one indeed.

If Solskjaer can get a result, his credentials as a top manager will gradually begin to sink into the skulls of those who currently doubt him.
