Paul Pogba expected to make his comeback against Newcastle



French midfielder Paul Pogba is likely to make his comeback to first team action when we host Rafael Benitez Newcastle side in a fortnight at the theatre of dreams after the international break is over. The Frenchman has missed a total of twelve matches in all competitions since he picked up a hamstring injury in our 3-0 win against Swiss side FC Basel in the Champions League.

His return to the starting line-up will be a major boost to the team having enjoyed a brilliant start to the season with two goals and two assists in first four Premier League games this season.

The absence of Paul Pogba has seen United trail Premier League leaders Manchester City by 8 points and there is no Perfect time for Pogba to return than now as the Special One will be hoping to avoid any more slip ups in the coming weeks. The French international has done most of his rehabilitation in the United States, but has returned back to Carrington late last month after Jesse Lingard posted a video of him on social media platform Instagram, and he is expected to return to training next week with the first-team in other to build up match rhythm ahead of the Magpies visit to Old Trafford reports the Mirror.

The attacking impetus showned by the Red Devils at the start of the season has dropped massively since Paul Pogba’s injury and has seen the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku struggled in his absence. Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided 5 assists in his first three Premier League games but he is yet to provide a single assist in the absence of Pogba while Romelu Lukaku on the other hand who scored 10 goals in his first nine matches for United, is yet to score in his last seven matches. Although, the Belgian has provided two assists in his last three Premier League games having assisted Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in the games against Huddersfield and Tottenham.
