Picture: Maurizio Sarri and Jorginho arrive London ahead of Chelsea deal

The confirmation of Conte exit from Stamford Bridge has set the ball rolling for the arrival of Maurizio Sarri to Stamford bridge. Skysports and reputable transfer guru Simon Johnson today tweeted that the Italian tactician alongside playmaker Jorginho have arrived in London to complete a double swoop.

It is believed that Sarri has agreed on personal terms with the Blues but the London club are yet to make an announcement confirming his appointment. Sarri had been the subject of a summer-long pursuit by the London club as a replacement for former coach Conte.

However, a compensation fee demanded by Napoli caused the deal to be stalled. Italian tabloid Gazzetta Dello Sport earlier reported that a fee had been agreed for the 59-year-old to join the club. the report also stated that Sarri had signed a two-year deal worth €6.4 million yearly with an option for a third year.

Jorginho is expected to join Sarri as part of a £57 million move to Chelsea. The 26-year-old had a fine season conducting play as the Naples club pushed Juventus to the limit. He is expected to undergo a medical this weekend before signing a five-year deal worth £102,000 weekly.

Sarri would be expected to impose his trademark attacking football at Stamford Bridge and his confirmation would intensify transfer activities in what has been a quiet summer.
