Manchester United have been rewarding several youth team players with new contracts this summer with Callum Whelan and Zak Dearnley committing their long-term futures to the club, and Ethan Hamilton has become the latest youngster to commit his future to the club.

The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a long-term deal after impressing with the u23 squad. The tenacious midfielder was an important cog for Ricky Sbragia’s team and was nominated for the Denzil Haroun Player of the Year award last season.

Hamilton has revealed his delight in signing a new deal and also says that United has always been his dream club. He, however, admitted that hard work was required to break into the first team and believes that the club’s tradition of giving youth playing time would mean guaranteed opportunities in the first team.

Ethan Hamilton agrees deal with Man United

Hamilton has been scoring some crucial goals for the U-23 team but he is quite known for winning the ball in the middle of the pack, and for starting quick attacks. Hamilton was part of the first team squad against Huddersfield last season. However, he did not feature in the game.

The 19-year-old is held in highly rated by the coaching staff and has been labelled the next Nemanja Matic.
