Picture: Versatile Forward All-smiles After Completing £19m Liverpool transfer

Liverpool have successful completed the permanent transfer of Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for the sum of £19m.

The transfer came out of the blue because a loan move to Crystal Palace was envisaged before the sudden transfer to the Cherries was announced.

Solanke joined Liverpool from Chelsea in 2017 for the sum of £3.5m, with the hope of cutting it at the club but chances have been limited for the 21-year-old not with the form of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Throughout the 2017-18 season, the England International featured and scored only one goal and an assist against Brighton and Hove Albion and Stoke City respectively. He hasn’t featured this season.

The Cherries have recently hit a rough patch in their quest to finish in a respectable top half position in the league. Hopefully, with the signing of athletic Solanke to replace Glasgow-Ranger bound Jermaine Defoe, the Cherries can turn the tide.

Liverpool football club wish the youngster well as he departs the Reds for Bournemouth and his new club are overwhelmed to have added him to their young and vibrant squad.

“Everybody at LFC thanks Dom for his contribution to the Reds and wishes him the best of luck for the future,” read a statement on Liverpool’s official website.

Meanwhile Bournemouth head coach Eddie Howe could not hide his delight after securing the talent.

“Dominic is technically gifted, very athletic and has the physical profile that will give us something different in our front line,” said Howe, as per The Guardian.

“He has done very well for England at various age groups, has a huge amount of potential and I’m really excited about working with him.
