Loftus Cheek has spoken of his intent on breaking into the starting eleven under new manager Maurizio Sarri.  The Blues midfielder started against Lyon at Stamford Bridge and he’s keen to push ahead  into his manager’s plans

The England international has been with the Blues since he was eight years has long been  thought of one amongst the club’s brightest academy stars.

A loan move at Crystal Palace helped Loftus-Cheek  force his way into Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad and there seems to be equally robust competition at Stamford Bridge this season.

The Blues have already signed Jorginho from Napoli and  Goal understands Mateo Kovacic is undergoing a medical prior to  finalizing a loan move from Real Madrid .

There is the presence of the likes of Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kane and RossBarkley though Loftus-Cheek insists he’s centered on staying at the club despite rumours of a loan move away from the club.

Loftus-Cheek impressed in the  0-0 draw against Roma  as Sarri rung the changes for his side’s final game of pre-season. However he did not make the bench for the community  shield which suggests that he may have to spend another season on loan.

Chelsea begin their EPL campaign against huddersfield on Saturday as Sarri makes hiscompetitive bow as Chelsea boss.
