Prolific striker agrees to join Chelsea – report

Bosnian striker, Edin Dzeko has reportedly agreed a move to Chelsea this month ahead of a potential winter transfer to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been in the hunt for a target man since the turn of the New Year having scored just thrice in their last five games across all competitions.

The form of Alvaro Morata has been a cause for worry for both Antonio Conte and the fans with the Spanish striker failing to score in any of his last six games in all competitions.

However, the Premier League champions struggle in front of goal has seen them been heavily linked with a move for West Ham striker, Andy Carroll this month but an unexpected six weeks injury to the Englishman has prompted the Blues to make a move for former Manchester City striker, Edin Dzeko who definitely fits the west London profile.

Reports in Italy suggest the Blues are closing in on a move for the Bosnian forward after reaching an agreement with the centre forward over a potential switch to the Bridge this winter transfer window.

It is believed the Blues are willing to offer out-of-favour Chelsea striker, Michy Batshuayi as a makeweight in a deal that will see Edin Dzeko move to Stamford Bridge while the Belgian moves in the opposite direction.

The 31-year-old who left the Premier League in the summer of 2015 to join Serie A side AS Roma on loan for a reported €4 million having won the FA Cup and League Cup and also the Premier League title twice with Manchester City will be a great coup for the Blues.

He is one of the deadliest strikers in the Serie A and would definitely be a fantastic addition to the Blues given his quality and his proven Premier League experience.

The hitman has featured in 26 games across all competitions for AS Roma scoring 12 times and providing four assists.
