Prolific striker desperate to join Liverpool; £23m seals deal

Liverpool are reportedly interesting Salzburg goal machine Munas Dabbur.

The forward has a remarkable scoring record with 20 in 30 matches this season already. He bagged a whooping 29 last season for the football club based in Austria.

Salzburg have produced some top quality players who have come to take the Premier league by storm. Sadio Mane joined Southampton from Salzburg in 2014 before moving to Liverpool.

Dabbur has a £23m release clause in his contract, a sum not too big to meet by the Merseyside giants if they think the player can improve the team.

Fulham, alongside Valencia and Sevilla are being linked to the player but it seems the Israeli forward is focused on playing in the Premier league for Liverpool and charismatic Jurgen Klopp.

Dabbur might not be a household name but the impact he has had in the Austria Bundesliga speaks volume of his ability in front of goal.

He also featured in the Europa league last season where the Austria club failed to make it past the semi finals, a fit that they were applauded for considering the quality in the competition and the country they represent.

Liverpool are not in urgent need of a forward given that Sallah has continued from where he stopped last season and Firmino is gradually returning to his best after a lukewarm start.

Throw in Daniel Sturridge and Origi and Liverpool are well stocked in the forward area. However, adding a player of Dabbur’s quality, passion and desire will not hurt the club moving forward.
