Prolific winger ‘interested’ in Arsenal move, £30M sees deal done

The past few days has seen speculations over the future of Lille star Nicolas Pepe with Arsenal and a host of top clubs reportedly after the player. Pepe has added more fuel to the transfer rumour with his latest comments.

The Ivory Coast international has been one of the standout performers in the French league since his move to Lille in 2017.  His performances have seen him linked to the Gunners who are reportedly ready to offer a huge fee for the 23-year-old.

Bayern Munich and Dortmund are also in the race to sign the highly rated attacker who has scored eight times in the league this season. A fee of £30 million has been touted as the asking price from Lille for the in-form forward.

Pepe when asked by reporters about the speculation surrounding his future revealed that his choice would be between Arsenal, Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

He said: “A preference between Dortmund, Bayern or Arsenal? They’re all big clubs.

“I was not aware of these rumours, although it’s nice.

“Will I leave Lille at the end of the season? We do not even know what I’ll be doing tomorrow!”

Pepe would be a good addition to Arsenal as he would bolster the attacking options available for Unai Emery as the club seeks to make a return to the Champions League.

This transfer would be one to watch out for in the next few weeks as the transfer window draws closer.
