Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata has reportedly completed a move to Spanish side Atletico Madrid according to news from England. Morata has endured an underwhelming stint at Chelsea since his big transfer move from Real Madrid last season.

The 25-year-old was left out of the squad that lost to Arsenal on Saturday and is expected to be close to a winter transfer exit.

According to transfer guru Nicolo Schira of Gazzetto dello Sport Atletico Madrid have agreed on a loan deal with an option to buy the striker for €55 million at the end of the season.  The reporter revealed this on Twitter and claims that the striker will sign a contract on Monday.

Morata’s exit is expected to pave the way for the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain to the club. Higuain has been left out of AC Milan squad for the clash against Genoa on Monday amid reports that he has undergone a medical at Chelsea.

Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso confirmed this news in the pre-match press conference and revealed that Higuain was poor in training due to the transfer rumours.

“I want to be honest with you all. We had a poor training session today due to all these rumours. We spoke after the training session and I did not consider him ready for this game’

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri would be hopeful that the arrival of Higuain brings an end to the woes in front of goal.
