Chelsea have received a huge transfer boost as reports from Spain says that Real Madrid have ended the pursuit of Eden Hazard.

According to the report, new coach Julen Lopetegui has expressed his confidence in the Galacticos squad and has earmarked Spanish ace, Isco, for a key role next season.

Hazard has been consistently linked with the Madrid outfit for the past three seasons, the exit of Ronaldo has made the speculations to be rife. Hazard had an excellent world cup leading Belgium to a third-place finish and had been labelled as an ideal replacement for Ronaldo.

However, it has emerged that the Blues were unwilling to sell the wide man and slapped an enormous transfer fee of £200 million for the 27-year-old. This development has led the European champions to cool down interest in the player and keep faith in the existing group of players.

Hazard had during the world cup hinted of leaving Chelsea citing the need for a new challenge as enticing. Apparently, Chelsea are not giving up on convincing the player to stay as they have offered him a contract worth £300,000 to stay.

Hazard has been an important player in the Chelsea team since moving from Lille in 2012 going on to win the PFA player of the year in 2015. His stay with the club will be crucial as they seek to bounce back after a disappointing season.
