Sarri tells Chelsea board to sign £45m Azpilicueta replacement after Higuain

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj according to reports from England. The Daily Mirror claims that Maurizio Sarri is keen to add new competition to the right back position.

Ceasar Azpilicueta is the only first-team right-back with Victor Moses and Davide Zappacosta expected to leave the club in January. Hysaj is the ideal player according to Sarri that would fit into his brand of football.

The Albanian international is known for his marauding runs down the right flank and is a decent defender. However, this season, he has fallen down the pecking order at Napoli under Carlos Ancelotti and could be looking for a new club in the summer.

The Blues are looking to take advantage of the situation and could move for the defender valued at around £45 million.  It would be interesting how Sarri would deal with a potential situation at the right-back position if a big move for Hysaj is sanctioned.

Club captain Azpilicueta is a fan favorite and has been dubbed ‘Mr Dependable’ by the Stamford Bridge faithful. A January transfer move looks unlikely but the Blues could seal a loan with an option to buy which could test Napoli’s resolve.

Hysaj has made over 150 appearances for the Naples outfit since his transfer from Empoli some few seasons back.
