The 27-year-old has once again impressed between the sticks this campaign and such form has inevitably seen him linked with a return to Spain, amid Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez apparent insistence on luring the ex Atletico man back to the Spanish Capital.

The two sides initially agreed a deal for De Gea three years ago, with the move falling through at the last minute, due to a Fax failure.

Nevertheless,Perez is still a keen admirer of the elusive Spaniard ,and is reportedly ready to dislodge Keylor Navas in favour of making De Gea his newly installed no 1.

However, any offer proposed by the Los Blancos is expected to be rebuffed, with De Gea reportedly now set for improved terms in his remaining 18- month contract.

An expected new deal for the Spanish international would be a reward for his tremendous form, tying the shot stopper at the club for the foreseeable future, placing him just behind fellow team mate Alexis Sanchez, amongst the top earners at the club.
