Steven Nzonzi to Arsenal takes a new twist

Arsenal might not sign their transfer target Steven N’Zonzi as plans of Crystal Palace may obstruct the Gunner’s aim.

The 29-year-old World Cup winner has been linked with a possible move to Arsenal this summer, having worked with the Gunners current manager Unai Emery in the past during their time together at Sevilla.

According to reports, N’Zonzi is wanted by Roma who might need to replace Maxime Gonalons who is targeted by Crystal Palace.

Roma are keen on luring the Frenchman to the Italian side despite being targeted by Arsenal and he is expected to leave Sevilla this summer for £35 million which might be too much on Arsenal budget at the moment.

Although Arsenal have already signed a midfielder Lucas Torreira to reinforce the midfield, Emery is reorganizing the team ahead of the season and may need N’Zonzi’s style defensive play when push comes to shove with calmness on the ball for a robust defensive midfield.

However, there are rumours of Chelsea aiming for Aaron Ramsey who is yet to sign a new contract to commit to the club but should the Welsh international leave, N’Zonzi coming back to the Premiership can free up Granit Xhaka to focus on delivering passes to the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil.
