Strongest probable Chelsea line-up to defeat Leicester City

Premier League champions, Chelsea entertain Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and would he hoping to return to winning ways against the Foxes having drawn all of their last three games across all competitions.

The Blues have found goals hard to come by in recent games having scored only two goals in their last three matches and would be hoping to the double over the Claude Puel led side having won 2-1 in the reverse fixture at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes will likely sit back and hit Chelsea on a counter but the Blues all-round quality should be enough to grind out a win.

We take a look at Chelsea’s predicted line-up against the former Premier League champions.

Belgian shotstopper, Thibaut Courtois has been brilliant in goal so far this season and would be hoping to add to his clean-sheet tally against the Foxes on Saturday having kept 11 cleansheet so far this term.

He is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and would be expected to remain in goal barring any injury worries.

The Blues have been solid at the back so far this season conceding only 16 goals in 22 Premier League games which is the second-joint meanest defence in the division alongside Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

A three man defence is expected but Antonio Conte will likely bring back Captain Gary Cahill into the starting line-up having sat out the Blues goalless draw at Stamford Bridge against London rivals, Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Andreas Christensen is expected to remain in the heart of the defence while both Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill are expected to remain on the right and left side of the defence respectively.

A five man midfield is expected with Antonio Conte likely to make some changes in the middle of the park. A central midfield pairing of N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, and Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected with energetic midfielder, Kante expected to protect the defence while the duo of Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko are expected to support the attack and marshall the midfield.

At wing-back, both Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso are expected to provide more width from the right and left side of the midfield respectively not neglecting their defensive duties.

In attack, the duo of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata are expected to lead the line with both players forging a lethal partnership up-front and would be hoping to end the Blues recent struggles in front of goal.

Spanish striker, Alvaro Morata will be hoping to end his goal drought having failed to score since the turn of the New Year.

Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Courtois, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahil, Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Bakayoko, Alonso, Hazard, Morata.
