Tottenham Hotspur confident Dele Alli will sign a new contract

Tottenham Hotspur player Dele Alli has been in the news a lot recently having been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona but his north London club have confirmed their confidence in the extension of the contract of their midfield sensation.

The two-time PFA Young Player of the Year is currently on a six-year contract with Tottenham earning £50,000 weekly but the club is set to offer him an improved deal which will see him become one of the Club’s highest earner with a £80,000 weekly deal.

The club have stated that they’re confident that the England international will remain at White Hart Lane next season despite increasing interest from top European clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona who are reportedly considering him as a replacement for Phillipe Coutinho should they fail to sign him from Liverpool.

The 21-year-old joined Tottenham Hotspur in February 2015 from Milton Keynes Dons on a 5 and half year deal worth £5 million but was immediately loaned back to MK Dons till the end of the 2014/2015 season where he helped get them promoted to the championship.

He has had a successful campaign in the English Premier League and got the attention of football lovers after his impressive run in the 2016/2017 where he scored 18 goals with 7 assists to his credit. But he has gone off to a shaky start this season after being in the news for the wrong reasons due to a match ban for his gesture in England’s match against Slovenia and received a dressing down from his coach Mauricio Pochettino for diving against Huddersfield town in the Premier League.
