Two transfer targets arrive London ahead of official announcement today

Chelsea have finally pulled the plug on Antonio Conte, News from Sky Italy reveals that the Italian tactician was relieved of his duties on Thursday.

This announcement is set to pave way for the Stamford Bridge outfit for the announcement of arrival of Maurizio Sarri and Jorginho from Napoli. Sarri has been a long-term target to replace Antonio Conte at the helms of affairs at Stamford Bridge.

Conte had become disillusioned with the board over failure to secure promised signings, and resorted to criticizing the board last season.

Despite winning the FA Cup, the final nail in his tenure was the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League after finishing a disappointing 5th on the League table. Sarri is expected to bring midfielder Jorginho to the club as Napoli chief De Laurentiis confirmed that he had agreed a deal in principle for the 26-year-old midfielder.

Maurizio Sarri and Jorginho

Jorginho had been expected to sign for English champions Manchester City having been linked with the Manchester side all Summer. However, De Laurentiis revealed that the offer of living in London and promise of higher wages were the major factors that influenced Jorginho’s decision to snub Man City for Chelsea.

Chelsea fans are the biggest winners as they would be hopeful the club can move on from the managerial saga ahead of next season.
