Steven Nzonzi has been linked with a move to the Emirates stadium this summer according to several reports from Spain, and Unai Emery’s recent social media has sent fans into a frenzy over the prospects of the 29-year-old playing for Arsenal next season.

Emery sent a tweet to Nzonzi on Sunday, congratulating the midfielder for France World Cup success. He also congratulated several players that he managed in PSG which includes Blaise Matuidi. Alphonso Areola, Prenel Kimpembe and Teenage prodigy Kylian Mbappe.

“Congratulations to the France team and [Didier] Deschamps.

“Happy for @KMbappe @AreolaOfficiel @kimpembe_3 @Rami13officiel @MATUIDIBlaise @iamnzonzi15.

“Congratulations for that brilliant @FIFAWorldCup!”

Arsenal fans would be hoping that this latest development could signal the beginning of negotiations for the holding midfielder. Nzonzi has gained a reputation as a sturdy midfielder with good passing skills since his move to Sevilla from Stoke City in 2015.

Nzonzi would be an ideal signing for the Gunners in the midfield as he has the physical presence needed to impose his game in the Premier League. Moreover having played for Stoke City and Blackburn, he would have little problems in adjusting top the premier league.

Nzonzi played a bit part role in France role but played in the world cup final yesterday replacing N’golo Kante in the second half as France defeated Croatia 4-2 to win the World Cup.
