Unai Emery wants £37.5m-rated winger as 6th summer signing

News from England claims that Emery is keen to secure the signing of Argentine Star Cristian Pavon.

The 22-year-old Argentine has been impressive for Boca Juniors and was part of the Argentine squad involved in the World Cup.

Arsenal have been active in the transfer window with the signing five senior players. However, the north London club identifies the right flank as a position that needs to be strengthened.

Emery intends to use Mkhitaryan on the left next season which leaves Alex Iwobi as the only option to play the right wing for the Gunners. Emery spoke about the Gunner’s transfer plans on Thursday where he appeared to suggest that the club could still make more signings this summer.

“We signed the players who we needed and only if one player is a big opportunity for us will we sign them,” he said. “At the moment, I think the squad is complete. We will only sign another player if there is an opportunity to bring in that one player, or two players.

This has led to Football England claiming Pavon could be the final signing for the Gunners this summer. The same report says that Barcelona have also indicated interest and are monitoring the winger’s situation at Boca Juniors.

Pavon was non-committal when questioned by reporters about speculations linking him away from Argentina. The player revealed that he was not concerned about his future, insisting that he would meet with his manager and family to discuss what’s best for him.

Pavon scored 6 goals and provided 11 assists for Boca Juniors in all competitions last season.
