Victor Lindelof at peace despite lack of playing time at Manchester United

Manchester United summer signing, Victor Lindelof has disclosed that he is at peace and patiently awaits his breakthrough into the Manchester United first team squad in the league.

The centre back joined Manchester United from SL Benfica on a four year contract worth £31 million. He had an impressive pre-season campaign but has since failed to make his debut in the Premier League after 7 games. He has so far made four appearances for the Red Devils which has come from the UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup but none in the league, this is quite unexpected of a player who holds the club record deal for a defender.

Manchester United Manager, Jose Mourinho as disclosed that he is still giving the defender time to adapt to his new country and the Premier League style of play and he’ll get his chances soon. The manager has since been deploying the defensive alliance of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones.

The 23-year-old is currently on International duty with the Sweden national team for the world cup qualification matches against Luxembourg and Netherlands. His national team coach as also had his say about his lack of playing time in Manchester United which he described as “frustrating” and “unfortunate,”.

The Swedish professional footballer also faces greater competition in the United team with the impending arrival of Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling but the defender looks unperturbed as he believes that Manchester United is a big club and his first team breakthrough will come at the right time.

“I feel no stress,” he told Swedish newspaper Expressen. “I’m in one of the world’s best clubs, it’s clear that it’s tough competition. But it may have the time it takes.”
