Why Manchester United will not sell Marouane Fellaini

Many football lovers have raised concerns over the future of Belgium International, Marouane Fellaini who plays for Manchester United as there are doubts about his chances of getting regular playing time in Jose Mourinho’s team in the wake of summer signing Nemanja Matic from Chelsea football club who has adapted well and impressed Manchester United football fans across the globe so far.

The 29-year-old midfielder who joined Manchester United from Everton in 2013 on a deadline day deal worth £27.5million hasn’t really enjoyed a good relationship with the fans of the English side as he has been a subject of ridicule, resentment and an easy target to blame anytime the clubs puts up an unimpressive performance. This is probably because he was the first major signing of David Moyes and reminds the fans of that gory year in the club’s recent history.

So should the Belgian who was linked with a move to galatasaray during the transfer window leave the Red Devils to play for another team where he can get more playing time in preparation for 2018 World Cup with the support of a much more loving football fans or wait to fight for his spot and prove himself worthy of wearing the famous red shirt?

Fellaini’s career received a major boost yesterday when the red devils coach, Jose Mourinho was quoted to have said “I need him” following questions raised concerning his fitness in preparation for Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League game against FC Basel after missing out on Saturday’s match against stoke city which ended in a 2 – 2 draw.

In the words of Mourinho “He’s a very important player for me, much more important than you can imagine. I feel weaker without him.”

This gives me much reason to believe that Jose Mourinho has a plan for Fellaini in his team as the player appears to be someone who can easily fit into a defensive, long-ball game plan alongside players like Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lindelof whose heights pose as an advantage should the ‘Special One’ decide to play with such tactics this season.
